What types of companies do you work with?

We work with exhibit and attraction fabricators, hardware startups, incubators and accelerators, and industrial equipment manufacturers, anyone building physical products that need to perform reliably in demanding environments.

Can you work with our team remotely?

Yes. Most of our engagements are delivered remotely, we review CAD files, conduct engineering analysis, and deliver written reports and recommendations via video call. For projects requiring on-site assessment, we arrange site visits on a case-by-case basis.

What does a typical engagement look like?

It depends on the scope. A Manufacturing Readiness Review typically takes one to two weeks and delivers a prioritized report of DFM issues with cost and risk impact. Longer-term advisory engagements, such as durability engineering or independent technical review, are scoped based on the project's complexity and timeline.

At what stage should we bring you in?

The earlier the better. Design changes cost 10x less at the CAD stage than after tooling has been cut. That said, we regularly help companies at every stage, from concept review through production troubleshooting and field failure analysis.

How are your services priced?

We offer both flat-rate project pricing and hourly advisory rates depending on the engagement type. We'll scope the work together upfront so there are no surprises. Reach out and we'll provide a quote within 48 hours.

25 Years, Millions of Cycles: Designing Interactive Hardware That Outlasts Its Audience

Interactive attractions require hardware designed to operate flawlessly for extended periods without impacting the guest experience. I helped, and we were tasked with a seemingly contradictory challenge: build highly robust, complex mechanical assemblies that look like magic, are entirely child-proof, and can survive millions of cycles of use and abuse.

Installation Durability Assessment -TELUS Spark Science Centre

Independent durability assessment of four interactive installations at TELUS Spark Science Centre in Calgary, spanning tabletop exhibits, enclosed mechanical systems, an industrial robotic ride platform, and a multi-DOF VR flight simulator. Each installation was evaluated for mechanical wear patterns, failure mode exposure, and maintenance cost drivers. The assessment demonstrates how field observation, without disassembly or design documentation, can surface actionable durability insights for operators, fabricators, and designers of public interactive hardware.
